Being from North Dakota hard wood trees are a little scarce.
Do you recommend or is it OK to use any type of charcoal with your smokers?
Herb C
We prefer wood because it burns hotter and faster and is cleaner tasting than charcoal. Any hardwood from your area will work fine for cooking.
Anything the old timers used for the smokehouses is good. Try cabinent makers in your area they usually have hard wood drops as a by-product, and are normally willing to trade for BBQ. Also you might try one of the BBQ forums and ask others in your area what they are doing for wood. Hope this helps. Thank for Looking at Lang!
